South Carolina, Here I Come…Back

Standard

That’s it. I’m moving back to the state where I attended graduate school, where I met some of the smartest, funniest, most loyal friends I’ve ever had, where I learned a lot about getting out of my comfort zone and enjoying my life, where I learned that I had reserves of strength I never knew I had…well, let’s just say that South Carolina holds a lot of fond memories for me, and I’ve never regretted living there, despite some drama I could’ve lived without. (But hey, what life doesn’t have the occasional soap opera moments?)

For those of you who’ve been living in the NoFactZone, you know exactly why I’m contemplating yet another transcontinental move. Nation, Stephen Colbert has officially declared his candidacy for President of the United States…in South Carolina (from where he hails, and of which he is a self-confessed “favorite son”):

You know what that means: B. will be looking for employment in the Palmetto State soon. If any of you happen to know of an echo tech position that’s currently open there — preferably in Columbia, one of the most interesting cities I’ve ever lived in — drop me a line. Stephen’s gonna be hiring soon, and I want get in on the action. If nothing else, I guess I can always do rallies here in Colorado.
